May Crowning Ceremony 2019
Date: 17 May 2019
Time: 1: 40 – 2: 15 p.m.
Venue: School Hall
May is often called “the Month of Mary.” The month of May is a special time for us to honour our Blessed Mother Mary because she is the Mother of Jesus, Mother of the Church as well as the guide of everyone who seeks to be the servant of God.
There is also a long-standing tradition in MPS of what is called “May Crowning,” when the statue of Mary is crowned with flowers. The flowers represent Mary’s beauty and virtue and the ceremony invites us to imitate Mary’s virtue in our lives. This year, our May Crowning Ceremony was held on 17th May, during which students and teachers also offered spiritual flowers to Mother Mary by writing down prayers or good deeds they committed to do or personal sharing with Mother Mary.
