Visit of Delegation from the Government of Singapore 2008
Marymount Primary School had the honour to be host to a 16-member delegation from the Government of Singapore on September 18 2008. Among them are Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for National Development & Education, Ms. Grace Fu Hai Yien, and Members of Parliament. Beautiful string music played by P.6 girls accompanied our guests to their seats in our Conference Room. Our Supervisor, Dr. Eadaoin Hui then extended to them our warmest welcome, followed by a delightful medley of photo parade (Happy Learning in MPS) and poetry recital (MPS Learning Garden), and choral singing (“Give Thanks”) presented by MPS students. Our presentation ended on notes of reminiscence, pride and joy as our Principal, Mrs. Julie Ma shared with our guests her understanding of tradition and innovation in Marymount. What more? As our friends from Singapore came out of Conference Room, our 16 little ambassadors from P.5-6 were all ready at the door to take them on a tour of our school. Who else could be better tour guides than smiley and caring MPS girls?
